My Take On Currant Commercials

No One Cares How Early You Vote

Because I spent all my Dreamweaver and Photoshop money on Transformers, here's a list of Open-source freeware I use!

KompoZer

The Web-design package I've used to cobble this together. Took twenty minutes, part of which was the download!  This used to be Nvu, the project has changed.

GIMP-GNU Image Manipulation Program

Most of my comics are done in MS Paint, which makes for bad quality.

While not Photoshop, of course, Gimp is a great Graphics Editor, you should see the image quality go up soon.  Popeye, above, is an example.

Firefox!

I like Firefox a lot, mainly because once you add the Adblock filter, you can really speed up your connection.

OpenOffice!

This is just a free office suite.  Which is to say, if you lack Word, Powerpoint, or Excel, this will give you most of the same functionality, free.  Plus some features the non-free stuff lacks, like direct PDF creation.

Ubuntu Linux!

As the computer world becomes more diverse, it can't hurt to learn about it.  Go here to get a Live-CD that'll let you experiment with it WITHOUT having to install it.  Also, the Ubuntu Forums are a great place to get help.  If you want to reanimate REALLY old equipment, I recomend Puppy Linux instead.

Portable Apps!

The vast majority of the programs above can be run off the Live-CD, OR you cna put them on a thumb drive!  They also leave no traces on the host computer afterwards, so they are handy if you have to work on a public system or borrow one from a freind.
